Amber-golden rays burst
O’er the granite skyline-
Spill into the air,
Shatter the silent serenity of night
With silent nuclear fire.
A mountain vanishes
In the blaze of liquid gold
That pours down the slopes
And bounces from peak to peak,
Cascading into the open windows
Of our valley below.
Twelve pair of wings in a line
Sail through the molten light;
And so began today,
As I saw in wonder,
With nature’s awesome display.
Our steel and stone cities
Cannot compare
To the atomic inferno of the dawn.

The title is the date this was experienced and written. It was a really beautiful, inspiring morning on the way to school.

What a gorgeous piece. Gives me a new light and appreciation for daybreak. :)

I love this poem ^^
The words that you use really describe how beautiful the sunrise is, with such delightful language :) I like the kind of old style that it's written in too. A lovely piece, it makes me feel very calm and at peace ^^ Keep up the great work! ^^

Thanks! I'm glad that it had such a profound effect!
